The Lost World is a region in southeastern Venezuela, South America, where three countries, and three great watersheds meet.
In a Caracas artist's studio in 1993, a friend showed me a coffee-table book about a region called La Gran Sabana, full of towering mountains, haunting savannahs and amazing waterfalls.
I made up my mind I wanted to see it for myself.

The book's loom will be my travels across the entire Gran Sabana region, whether on foot, in jeeps, planes or dugouts.

I begin at the source of so many myths regarding South America: El Dorado.

A collection of short stories and articles which I've written over the years.

Most of these will end up in the book in some form. In the meantime, you can get a taste for them here.

This site forms part of the much larger website thelostworld.info. Please visit it for further background, travel information, maps, contacts, bibliography and guidance on the amazing Gran Sabana...
